Allergy/Anaphylaxis Policy

Kingsley School strives to be a nut-free facility. We work with families of students with allergies to create a safe environment. Any student with an anaphylactic allergy who requires an epi-pen is to have filled out an Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan and to be identified with a picture in the office and classrooms. Epi-pens will be kept in the classroom of each student and also an extra in the office. Epi-pen procedures will be reviewed on a regular basis at staff meetings. Each teacher is responsible for packing epi-pens plus the school’s extra epi-pen for all field trips. Teachers should be aware of the expiration dates on the epi-pens.

For other allergies, the student should be identified by using the Kingsley Allergy Form, accompanied by a photograph.
